A Morsel of Sweetness, Our Romance Begins… in the "Nick of Time"

After dinner last night my husband said he brought me a surprise. Yesterday my husband returned from a short business trip - he was in Colorado, where we moved here from, where many of our friends live, where we fell in love, and where we married almost year ago. If it’s not obvious, Colorado will always have a special beat in our hearts. So you can sense I was anxious to see what it was. He had stopped and bought a trio of chocolates from The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Some may go there because, well, they love chocolate and it more than satisfies their craving. Others may suppose ‘it’s just another chocolate shop“. We started going there for a morsel of sweetness to share with each other. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory became our sweet spot whether we were at or even just passing through the Denver International Airport. Even shopping downtown Denver we found ourselves refueling by sharing a morsel of sweetness.

There are so many decadent options you could choose one of everything, but there’s no glamour in making yourself ill. When you share a creamy morsel with someone you love, that bite you take, that love you feel (I’m talking about the man not the cocoa here.), it all tingles your taste buds like a parade of pink hearts. You taste the love - the emotion when you are about to see that man again, he appears, and the flush breaks loose all over your body, like the shell of this morsel as you nibble your share. Your tongue brushes the textures - a firm shell, smooth yet painted with set decipherable décor to compliment a flavor that is released through a supple center. The essence makes a spittle within, you pierce your lips wanting to smile but holding tight the spittle gem. Glancing up at your love (again still talking about the man not the chocolate) you savor those first glances, whether you chose mint, or champagne, or iced mocha, it leaves a tribute of love on your tongue that cannot be spoken, only cherished.

The world is spinning, you two are tranquil, share a kiss, and that morsel of sweetness releasing it’s romance has planted another rose in your garden, I like to call love.

Yes, my September Romance began in the "Nick of time". (For those of you who do not know, Nick is my husband's first name.) September first always circulates cherish-able romance, the capricious feeling I gain this time of year is a delightful morsel to my life.

Love is a morsel from God. We cherish and it lives strong, through eternity and on. Dear God, thank you for my husband, our love is a gift we will forever cherish.

"Our world may spin faster but love gravitates, don‘t loose your spittle, but savor the morsel."
